The Valluvar Kottam is a chariot-shaped monument, 39 metres (128 feet) high. It is built with 3000 blocks of granite stones, and the largest of these stones weigh as much as 40 tonnes. The giant wheels of the stone chariot measure around 11 feet in diameter and 2 feet in thickness.
